GOD’S JOB: CREATE | OUR JOB: PRESERVE

Darwinists will tell you that life evolved from very simple cells a long, long time ago. Ask them where the cells came from and how life began in the first place, and they’ll tell you we evolved from some primordial goo, or that aliens put us here. Then ask them where the goo or aliens came from, and they’ll admit they don’t know. That’s because their minds know it’s impossible for something to come from nothing, and there has been no answer to how simple cells came alive. In their hearts, surely they must know that the effect had a cause . . . the universe had an intelligent designer . . . the creation had a creator.

The Bible makes it clear that God made everything ex nihilo (out of nothing), and it was good. Indeed, God did a very good job. One of the first items on mankind’s job description was to care for God’s magnificent world. We are to be stewards of it. It is his world, and we its temporary visitors. We don’t own it or control it. But we are charged to manage and care for it, which is why we have to protect the land, sky and waters.

Earth truly is a privileged planet. Scientists tell us that it’s highly unlikely that a similar planet exists anywhere else in the universe. Earth is all we’ve got. That’s why we must preserve God’s creation. Not to do so would be to show him contempt, not to mention jeopardize the future habitability of this wonderful world.

So we need to handle God’s creation with care. Earth is precious to God and every living creature.

“Because God created the Natural—invented it out of His love and artistry—it demands our reverence.” — C. S. LEWIS
